Random Rant on Dark Sun

"Okay, look, I'm not fixing for an Argument here, but like, there is no such Plane. There is no u-u-u-u-u-u-universe where that is a *good financial decision* for a company of this scale, one that is trying so hard to improve its public image and messing up spectacularly at every turn such that committing to r-r-r--r-r-reviving a setting like Dark Sun would quite possibly ruin them for good.

Do you honestly believe for one second that the Wizards who shoot themselves in the FOOT/FOOT once per quarter with aggressive corporate tactics and "accidentally" Doing a VAN-RICH-RACISTUNkl-/

Are going to even attempt to update a setting like that to 5e so close to the endgame? 

Do you honestly think they'll give that project any of the effort and nuance it needs to not be seen as the worst decision in their entire corporate history? Because I don't have that kind of c-c-c-c-c-c-c-confidence in them, frankly, and I suspect you don't either.

Phaerimms are another creature from previous editions of the game that have been alluded to in 5e’s lore before (in this case, within the flavor text description of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden’s grotesque tomb tapper constructs), but only given a stat block now, and only in a book that very few are likely to have heard of. These highly intelligent funnel-shaped aberrations with rows and rows of teeth dwelled in the Underdark and posed a particular problem for the ancient Netherese of 5e’s Forgotten Realms setting due to their evil magic draining the vitality from the world, which is why they designed the aforementioned tomb tappers specifically to go out into the Underdark and exterminate them alongside other threats such as the mind flayers.
